Leftover Ink: Can I Take Your Order?
My family moved to Sterling Park in 1972, when my Dad was transferred from Dallas to Washington. We weren’t the first family in the Park, but you could say we beat the rush. I’ve mentioned it before, but Loudoun was a great place to grow up. That being said, there were certainly some challenges. Not the least of which was that staple of life, trying to find a decent place to eat.

Rugrats: What’s in a Name?
When I adopted my cat, it took me three weeks to find his name. In the meantime, he patiently waited as I tested out names at each of his early vet visits — such as Isador, Bartok and Casper.

Leftover Ink: Aack!
It’s true. In a year that has already seen the final installment of “Little Orphan Annie,” loyal followers of the newspaper comic strips soon bid adieu to “Cathy” as well. I’m not sure that the cultural impact of these two young ladies can be adequately expressed.
Day Tripper: American Celebration on Parade

Parade floats are anything but subtle. And finding yourself in a 40,000-square-foot warehouse containing more than 30 of them -- sparkly, spangly and larger than life -- might make you wonder if something was amiss with that mushroom pizza you had for lunch.

Leftover Ink: Long Live the King
“Have you found Elvis?” That’s what I was asked as I walked into the office this week. It was said with such an air of honest excitement – the same earnestness Jehovah’s Witnesses use when asking if you’ve found Jesus.
