At the terminus of another decade, a look back at the top stories of the past 10 years in Loudoun County seemed the obvious way to go. But with only so much space to fill and news being plentiful in one of the country’s fastest growing and wealthiest counties, we decided to stick with this year’s most memorable events. Accused Lansdowne Attacker Pleads Guilty to Gun Store Burglary

Whatever the result of his prosecution for the March 2009 murder of William Bennett in Lansdowne, Anthony Rumont Roberts, 20, of Middleburg, will not be a free man for several years. Already serving 18 months for a string of commercial burglaries in Middleburg, Roberts pleaded guilty to charges stemming from the April burglary of the Loudoun Guns store in Leesburg.

The two candidates for Attorney General met for their first debate on Saturday, June 20, hosted by the Virginia Bar Association. After several months in a contest to win the Republican nomination, Ken Cuccinelli was a bit faster on his feet and considerably more animated.
