In what escalated into a series of crimes by a single individual, the Leesburg Police took William Spencer, 49, of Baltimore, into custody after eight hours of negotiations for the safety of an elderly couple taken hostage earlier in the day.

Two Herndon men were injured in a plane crash near the Manassas Regional Airport on Friday evening, June 26. According to the Virginia State Police, Trooper Chris Thompson was called to the crash scene approximately a half-mile from the airport at 5 p.m.
