Burglary
Nov. 6-8, 6 p.m.
Unknown persons entered a business at the 42460 block of John Mosby Hwy. in South Riding through a bay door. A vending machine was damaged.
Larceny
Nov. 6-7, 6 p.m. – 9:30 a.m.
A GPS unit was stolen from an unsecured vehicle at the 18200 block of Cypress Point Ter. In Leesburg.
Nov. 6-7, 9 p.m. – 2 p.m.
A GPS unit was stolen from a vehicle at the 43480 block of Millwright Ter. In Leesburg.

String of Jewelry Burglaries Continues in South Riding
Between 9 a.m. and 12:30 p.m., unknown subject(s) entered a home in the 25800 block of Commons Square, removing a laptop, jewelry and cash. This is the fourth breaking and entering relating to jewelry theft in Loudoun County, and was the third of its kind in October.
School Board Moves to Purchase 101 Acres for Two Schools in Dulles South
Names Recommended for Two New Loudoun County Public Schools
Buffalo Trail Elementary School and J. Michael Lunsford Middle School are the names recommended to the Loudoun County School Board by two Loudoun County Public Schools (LCPS) naming committees for two new schools set to open in 2010 and 2011, respectively.
Buffalo Trail Elementary School, located at 42190 Seven Hills Drive in South Riding, will open for the 2010-2011 school year.
South Riding Thefts Could be Part of String of Break-Ins
On Oct. 15, a resident returned to their home on Stinger Drive and discovered that their home had been broken into through a rear door. Items stolen included a large amount of jewelry, a video game system and a laptop. The burglary took place between 8:30 a.m. and 8 p.m., authorities said.

Aug. 19, 8:08 p.m.
Deputies responded to the 45400 block of Dulles Crossing Plaza in Sterling for a report of two males shoplifting at Wal-Mart. Tuan M. Nguyen, 22, of South Riding, VA, was arrested and charged with assault and battery, petit larceny, contributing to the delinquency of a minor, obstruction of justice, carrying a concealed weapon and resisting arrest.

Assault
Aug. 12, 3:41 p.m. - 4:30 p.m.
A 21-year-old man was riding his bicycle at the 60 block of Sugarland Run Dr. in Sterling when he was grabbed and assaulted by an unknown assailant. After canvassing the area, Sheriff's deputies arrested Estevan Contreras-Guerrero, 29, of Sterling was arrested and charged with Assault. He is being held at the Loudoun County Adult Detention Center and held on a $1,000 bond.

Auto Accident
Aug. 4, 7:53 a.m.
A 28-year-old Leesburg man was traveling south on Gum Spring Rd. when his vehicle left the road and struck a tree. The driver was wearing his seatbelt and airbags did deploy. The driver was taken to Prince William County Hospital in critical condition.
Dulles Column: School Activity in the Summer
They've started running that advertisement again, that it's "the most wonderful time of the year".
I often agree in spirit, and had for some years the practice of opening all the windows and blasting the Hallelujah Chorus when the last bus pulled away on the first morning of the school year.
