Dade Gets Life Sentence for 2008 Murder of ‘Murphy’ Johnson

 “While nothing we do in the courtroom can erase the suffering of this family, I’m proud that we were able to gain some acceptable measure of justice,” said Loudoun County Commonwealth’s Attorney Jim Plowman, after Circuit Court Judge James H. Chamblin sentenced Terence Dade to serve life in prison for the April 2008 slaying of Jajuan “Murphy” Johnson.

 July 18 was playing out like any normal day at the Middleburg Training Center, an equine training facility. That is, until one of its employees was found dead in a barn.

Jury Returns Maximum Sentence for Habitual Offender

On July 24, 2009, Alfred L. Robinson, 48, of Middleburg, was convicted on the felony charge of driving after being declared a habitual offender, and a misdemeanor charge of driving while intoxicated-his second offense in 10 years . Robinson faces five years in prison for the felony and 12 months for the misdemeanor.

Middleburg Death Now Being Investigated as Homicide

Initially considered an “unattended death,” the body of the male victim was discovered at approximately 9 p.m. on Saturday, July 18 in the staff quarters at the Middleburg Training Center, a facility for training horses.

In a public release from the Sheriff's Office, police verified that search warrants have been executed at the Middleburg Training Center and that the death is being investigated as a homicide "until proven otherwise."

Monday Morning Autopsy May Explain Mysterious Saturday Death

An autopsy Monday morning may explain what a police release described as an “unattended death” on July 18. The victim was found unattended inside the Middleburg Training Center staff quarters – but the cause of death remained uncertain.

The autopsy will be conducted at the Office of the Medical Examiner in Manassas, and more information will be revealed as it becomes available.

Police Investigating Death at the Middleburg Training Center

The Loudoun County Sheriff's Office is investigating a death that occurred in the staff quarters at the Middleburg Training Center on Training Center Lane in Middleburg. The victim was located at approximately 9 p.m. on Saturday, July 18

The victim's identity has not been released, nor has the cause of death. An autopsy has been scheduled for Monday morning at the Office of the Medical Examiner in Manassas. 

Teen Charged in Middleburg Burglaries

A 16-year old Haymarket youth has been charged in connection to the March 21 burglaries in Middleburg.

The suspect, whose name has not been released because of his age, was charged on Friday June 12 with 3 counts of burglary, 2 counts of petit larceny and 1 count of grand larceny. He is currently being held at the Loudoun County Juvenile Detention Center.
