Auto Theft
Nov. 7-9, 5 p.m. – 7 a.m.
A trailer and bobcat were stolen from a construction site at the 23670 block of Overland Dr. in Sterling.

Burglary
Nov. 8, 9 a.m. – 3 p.m.
Unknown persons entered an unoccupied home at the 11690 block of Dutchmans Creed Rd. in Lovettsville, stealing a washing machine, wood stove, toilet, medicine cabinet, light fixtures and a sewage pump.

Destruction of Property
Nov. 6-9
Playground equipment located near the intersection of Freeport Way and Stukely Dr. in Sterling was damaged by unknown persons.

Police Standoff in Lovettsville After Double Shooting

Investigators outside a Lovettsville home where a 45-year-old man barricaded himself Tuesday before taking his own life.
While full details of the attack remain undisclosed, the deputies with the Loudoun Sheriff's Office are investigating a double-shooting that occurred at a home on Irish Corner Road near Lovettsville. The Sheriff's Office believes that the suspect, Barry L. Gates, 45, of Leesburg, entered the home around 2 a.m. Tuesday morning, Oct. 27.

The free event runs Sept. 25 through 27, and takes place along the historic streets of Lovettsville in western Loudoun. The Oktoberfest will feature beer, food, music and plenty of crafts.

An unknown subject entered a vehicle near the intersection of Spotswood Rd. and Bickel Ct. in Sterling by damaging a window. They removed a portable CD player from inside.

Crime Report for Wednesday, July 22, 2009

Burglary

July 21, 9:05 p.m.

After receiving a report of a suspicious vehicle at a vacant home on Peale Ln. in Leesburg, police stopped Matthew Young, 44, of Woodbridge after he exited the vehicle and entered the garage of the residence. Young was charged with Burglary and Larceny. He is being held on a $2,000 bond.

Burglary

July 21-22, 7:15 p.m. – 8 a.m.

Unknown persons entered a business center at the 44120 block of Harry Byrd Hwy. in Ashburn. Several interior doors were damaged to gain entry and two laptops were removed.
