Loudoun Valley High School

Carolyn Perry was recently named one of twenty-three teachers selected by the Virginia Association of Teachers of English as the recipient of the High School Teacher of Excellence Award, sponsored by the Secondary Section of the National Council of Teachers of English (NCTE). Perry is an English teacher at Loudoun Valley High School in Purcellville.

Carmel Keilty, physical education teacher at Heritage High School in Leesburg, was recently honored as the 2009 Shenandoah University’s Northern Virginia Campus Teacher of the Year.

 Both Loudoun Valley and Great Bridge advanced to the Virginia AAA Softball State Championship game with the help of stout pitching.

Loudoun County Public schools announced the list of speakers for the 10 upcoming Loudoun County High School graduation ceremonies. Graduation ceremonies and the traditional All-Night Graduation celebrations are planned for more than 3,950 Loudoun high school seniors.

There were more than a few special guests at the May 28 ceremony honoring the five scholarship winners in Loudoun’s “Beat the Odds” scholarship awards, but none were more special than the award-winners themselves.
