According to Loudoun County health officials, 900 people received vaccinations for the H1N1 virus at Smart’s Mill Middle School on North King Street Saturday. Those most at-risk, such as pregnant women and children and teens, were invited to take part, as the county had enough vaccines available for only 2,000 people.
Loudoun County Health Department director Dr. David Goodfriend said all of the nasal mist versions of the vaccine were dispensed by the end of the day, while some injectable doses were still available.

The popular grocery chain, which originated in upstate New York, opened its 75th store -- and second in Loudoun -- after expanding to Sterling only a few years ago. The doors opened at 7 a.m., but a large line had formed by 6:30 a.m.
Four women at the beginning of the line had been there since 4:30 a.m. Talk about love for Wegmans.

The Fifth Column: Tales From the Old Country
...the hideous truth I have for so long hidden within my heart: I am an alien in this fair land.
The fact is that I have only lived in Loudoun County for 16 years. I can hear newspapers being torn apart and bathroom doors slamming all across the county’s western end at the very thought. But hold – there is far worse to come.
