Joint Committee Forwards Recommendation for More New Schools

A majority of the members of the Joint School Board/Board of Supervisors Committee forwarded its subcommittee recommendation to build three new schools to serve northern Ashburn to their respective boards. The Joint Committee also requested each board chairman, Supervisor Scott York (I-At- Large) and Robert DuPree (Dulles) of the Loudoun County School Board, and two board colleagues work with staffs to determine locations for the new schools and report back to each board with those findings “as quickly as possible,” according to the adopted motion.

This time, four Washington Redskins greats, as well as 28 other charitable golfers, convened at the golf course and each paid $2,500 to play in an 18-hole tournament. All the money collected went to Blue Ridge Speech and Hearing, a local non-profit based in Lansdowne.

Loudoun residents were subjected to two murders during 2006.

Near-Drowning at National Conference Center

Loudoun County Fire-Rescue Services responded to a 911 call at Lansdowne's National Conference Center on Upper Belmont Place. Receiving a report of a possible drowning at a pool connected to the facility, emergency personnel arrived to discover CPR already being performed by the pool lifeguard and members of the Conference Centers Medical Emergency Response Team.
