U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) went on the record this week with the Loudoun Independent, in an attempt to address lingering questions surrounding the Arnold Mancia—Morales case. Mancia-Morales, here illegally and now serving a life sentence following a conviction for rape, may have unknowingly exposed deficiencies in the system of deporting undocumented workers with criminal convictions.

On Oct. 15, a resident returned to their home on Stinger Drive and discovered that their home had been broken into through a rear door. Items stolen included a large amount of jewelry, a video game system and a laptop. The burglary took place between 8:30 a.m. and 8 p.m., authorities said.

The incident remains under investigation and charges in the case are pending, according to a press release issued by the Sheriff's Office.

 July 18 was playing out like any normal day at the Middleburg Training Center, an equine training facility. That is, until one of its employees was found dead in a barn.

The 19-year old male victim has been identified as Bryan Vidarte, 19, of Centreville. Troxell says the results of the victim’s autopsy will not be released for several weeks.

This month, the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office will begin keeping closer tabs on areas in eastern Loudoun known for high-incidences of crime via a hidden surveillance camera.
