The unanimous vote by the Herndon Town Council on Nov. 10 will incorporate commercial, industrial and multi-unit rental properties within the town into the tax district, which was needed to ensure that Herndon’s lone rail station is built.

“This is key,” said Lee Fifer, counsel for the Western Alliance for Rail to Dulles, a group that advocated for the district. “And we are very pleased that the vote was unanimous.”

Even so, he encountered two very separate groups on Wednesday, Sept. 16, as a mini-tea party protest sprung up across the street.

Having stationed themselves at the corner of Herndon’s Elden and Spring Streets, a group of five to 10 protesters eagerly awaited the arrival of Virginia Gov. Tim Kaine, one of the high ranking Democrats who came out to support Miller.

 Two Herndon men were injured in a plane crash near the Manassas Regional Airport on Friday evening, June 26. According to the Virginia State Police, Trooper Chris Thompson was called to the crash scene approximately a half-mile from the airport at 5 p.m.

The Loudoun County Sheriff¹s Office is issuing several safety tips for path and trail users after two separate incidents in the Ashburn area.

From when it was first named in 1818 until around 1880, the little community of Pleasant Valley was considered to be in both Loudoun and Fairfax counties.
