More than 1,500 pumpkins carved by local students will be lighted for the two-night event. Lighting will occur promptly at 7:30 p.m. both nights.

Also on tap for the event, which runs from 6-9 p.m. both nights, will be twilight hayrides, pumpkin carving contests and live music.

Under bright autumn skies, hundreds of vendors, craftspeople and entertainers greeted thousands of fair-goers, continuing a long tradition of historical appreciation, fine handcrafts, original art, a variety of food, and fascinating house tours..”

“It might sound a bit cliché, but really, the freedom is why we ride,” said Mike O’Meara of radio station WJFK, when asked what is so great about riding a motorcycle. Most people who have never ridden on a motorcycle are excited by the thrill of being “bad,” while those who do ride are exhilarated by the total control of destiny they have on their bike. 

Encouraged by the warm weather, over 35,000 people turned out last weekend for the 19th Annual Leesburg Flower & Garden Festival. Considered one of the best festivals of its type in the Mid-Atlantic, the streets of historic downtown Leesburg were abundant in green as different vendors sold flowers, plants and accessories for the garden. Over 120 vendors where there and a variety of entertainers performed on the old Courthouse steps.
