1,500 Pumpkins to be Lit this Weekend

More than 1,500 pumpkins carved by local students will be lighted for the two-night event. Lighting will occur promptly at 7:30 p.m. both nights.

Also on tap for the event, which runs from 6-9 p.m. both nights, will be twilight hayrides, pumpkin carving contests and live music.

Leesburg Goes Green for Flower & Garden Festival

Encouraged by the warm weather, over 35,000 people turned out last weekend for the 19th Annual Leesburg Flower & Garden Festival. Considered one of the best festivals of its type in the Mid-Atlantic, the streets of historic downtown Leesburg were abundant in green as different vendors sold flowers, plants and accessories for the garden. Over 120 vendors where there and a variety of entertainers performed on the old Courthouse steps.
