He currently serves as chairman of the Board of Supervisors' Finance, Government Services & Operations Committee, and the Joint Board/School Board Committee.

Potomac Falls High School principal David Spage, who just completed his fifth year as Potomac Falls High School principal, will be named Loudoun County Public Schools (LCPS) Director of High School Education later this month.

Following a closed meeting for the specific purpose of evaluating Loudoun County Public Schools (LCPS), Superintendent Ed Hatrick, the nine-member elected Loudoun School Board signaled their approval of Hatrick’s performance, and their desire to extend his contract for another four years. Hatrick has served as superintendent of LCPS for 18 years; his current contract expires in July, 2010. Terms of Hatrick’s four-year renewal contract for July 2010-July 2014 remain to be negotiated.  

Teachers, teacher assistants, school nurses, bus drivers, cafeteria workers and administrators in Loudoun County Public Schools were all honored last week for their service to the schools and their students. More than 100 employees were honored for 25, 30, 35 and 40 years service in LCPS at the School Board meeting and at a reception.
