The first time was in a battle for first place in the Dulles District, where the Spartans had a decisive win, 38-0. The second time was in November 2008 in the Region II Final, as Broad Run beat the Panthers once again, this time by a score of 36-6. They later went on to win the AA State Championship.

Both of those games were played at Broad Run. This year, the action was at Potomac Falls where the fans remembered those two heartbreaking losses. The environment was intense as fans were fired up for this game, hoping the Panthers would pull off a huge upset. It was also Senior Night and the last home game of the season for the Panthers.

Unfortunately for the Panthers, the Spartans claimed another victory, 47-7. The Spartans dominated right from the start. On the first offensive play of the game, Broad Run quarterback Connor Jessop threw a 61-yard touchdown pass to Joey Quigg to give the Spartans a 7-0 lead.

Then with 8:37 left in the first quarter, Jessop threw a 19-yard touchdown pass to David Weaver. The Spartans went a successful two-point conversion, giving them a 15-0 lead.

Broad Run star running back TJ Peeler (who will play college football for Pitt next year) only came into the game for one play; however, that play was a 60-yard touchdown run. It gave the Spartans a 21-0 lead with 6:12 left in the first quarter.

Then with 1:12 left, Jessop once again threw a touchdown pass; this time a 19-yard one to Adrian Flemming to give Broad Run a 27-0 lead.

In the second quarter, the Spartans scored only one touchdown with 3:02 left in the half. Jessop threw a 15-yard touchdown pass to Weaver to give the Spartans a 34-0 lead.

In the third quarter with 10:45 left, Broad Run's special teams found a way to score. They had a 75-yard punt return for a touchdown to give Broad Run a 40-0 lead going into the fourth quarter.

In the fourth, the Panthers finally scored with 7:31 left in the game. Running back Brandon Brown had a one- yard touchdown run to make the score 40-7. But, Broad Run snatched the momentum right back, scoring on a 39-yard run. The final score was 47-7.

With the victory, the Spartans finish their third straight regular season undefeated at 10-0, while the Panthers drop to 3-6. The Panthers last regular season game is on Friday, November 6 at Loudoun County High School. Kickoff is at 7:30 p.m.
