Seriously, more important things loom right here at home and right now, starting with run, don't walk to your telephone or computer. Either call the Board of Supervisors comment line at 703-777-0115, or write to them at bos@loudoun.gov and ask them when they are going to begin the fast track for the HS7 site.

A contract for a land assemblage just west of new Arcola elementary school has been ratified by the school board, and a permit application has been filed.

When Lenah was denied, the reasoning was a middle school was needed near South Riding, and a high school near Stone Ridge. This site is partially in Stone Ridge, so it's time for Mr. Miller and Ms. Chaloux to make good and shepherd this voter-approved school through the process ASAP only one year late. Keep those calls and letters coming until this school gets going!

I hope everyone voted. Remember, no complaining until the term is over, unless you did!

Please, please remember Rachel D'Andrea's benefit children's concert on Saturday Nov. 14 from noon to 4 p.m. at Chantilly Bible Church, 4390 Pleasant Valley Road.

There will be a wide variety of kids' and family entertainment, moon bounces, the works. Best of all, the church facility is large enough that there is no need for a rain date.

South Riding Pediatrics will have two doctors present to educate about childhood cancer, which struck this little girl in her nerve tissue before she turned two. She is in intensive treatment for the next 18 months, and every penny raised goes to help her family fight her disease.

If you would like to learn more about Rachel and her family, visit their Caring Bridge website, sponsored by Children's Hospital, at www.caringbridge.org/visit/racheldandrea and keep in touch with events and opportunities to help this child at www.teamracheld.com/index.html .

And please don't forget Nov. 14 at noon. Be there or be square. Better yet, be there for Rachel and her family.
