The sight of a quarterback throwing one into the end zone. The crispness of the air. The taste of pumpkin pie. The sound of leaves crunching under your feet. The smell of chlorine...
Yes, chlorine. Because if you aren't thinking about the swim season, the Sterling Seahawks (our local swim team) sure are, and they are also sponsoring this weekend's Eastern Loudoun Fall Festival.
On Saturday, Oct. 31 - that's Halloween for all of you confused by the holiday decorations already out - , come out to this festival of the best things of the fall. The festival will be held on the grounds of the Sterling Golf, Swim, & Tennis Club at 333 S. Sterling Boulevard, between Sterling Middle School and the Bill Allen Football Field.
Activities kick off at 11 a.m. and go through 5 p.m., leaving plenty of time for you to get home to change into your scare-wear. Admission is free, and there will be hot dogs, hamburgers, and other traditional carnival food if you get hungry. Plus, you and your family can enjoy moon bounces, face painting carnival games, a cup cake walk, raffles, and a chance to win a pool membership at the Sterling Golf, Swim & Tennis Club.
And if you win the membership, you can also become a member of the Sterling Seahawks! I talked about this swim team at the beginning of the summer, and I'm thrilled to report they finished the season 6-3! Congratulations Seahawks!
