This week, you’ll be hearing his name again, as Tracy was selected as preseason third-team All-American by the Sports Network as defensive end from the College of William and Mary.
The selection comes on the heels of an amazing season for the Sterling native. Averaging .91 sacks per game, Tracy led his conference (the Colonial Athletic Association) and was ranked sixth nationally. He also led the league for tackles for a loss with 1.41 per game, ranking 20th nationally. Late 2008, he was named to the All-Colonial Athletic Association First Team.
Tracy’s success should hardly be a surprise to his hometown. At Potomac Falls, Tracy not only started for both the basketball and football teams, he also played multiple positions for the football team, including running back, tight end, linebacker, and—what would turn out to be his position at William and Mary—defensive end.
Look for Tracy to continue his powerhouse ways in the upcoming season, as the Tribe looks to better their 7-4 record in what is now considered one of the toughest conferences in Division I football. William and Mary’s season kicks off on September 5 in Charlottesville against the University of Virginia.
