Shoes for Darfur
After an amazing outcome at the nation’s capital and the collection of 30,000 pairs of shoes, Soles4Souls is taking their mission to the churches on Sunday, June 17. Bethal United Methodist in Gainesville, Good Shepard Catholic Church in Rescue and Hanover Church of the Nazarene in Virginia will participate with Grace Pointe Community Church of the Nazarene, in Severn Md., to host Barefoot Sunday to benefit Soles4Souls at 10am in their own churches respectively.

Barefoot Sunday’s mission is to collect new and gently worn shoes to donate to those in need. The intent is for people to walk up to the alter, remove their shoes, and walk out of worship services barefoot.

Wayne Elsey, Founder and CEO of Soles4Souls says, "This engaging event will not only leave a mark on the hearts of your entire congregation, but it will also help Soles4Souls continue our mission to 'Change the World One Pair at a Time.'"

The U.S. government estimates 300 million children around the world don’t own a pair of shoes; the efforts will go directly to put shoes on these children. Soles4Souls have donated over 4.3 million pairs of shoes to people in over 125 countries, including Honduras, Uganda, Romania, and the United States.
