Richard Giangerelli, President of the National Active and Retired Federal Employees Association (NARFE) Dulles Chapter 1241, tells the Loudoun Independent “Our basic intent is to lobby to protect benefits of active and retired government employees.” NARFE sets yearly legislative goals on issues related to the elderly that the organization will pursue with state officials.
On Monday June 22 at 11:30 a.m., NARFE will meet at Amphora’s Diner Deluxe at 1151 Elden St. in Herndon. Dr. Pankaj Mechia, will be presenting a program on “Sleep: Can’t Sleep! To Too Sleepy!” The presentation will be followed by a question and answer session including a discussion on sleep, common disorders of sleep, and healthy sleep practices and common problems with sleep, including insomnia, restless legs, and sleep apnea.
After the June presentation, NARFE will be entering a summer hiatus, resuming its meetings in September.
