The Loudoun County Board of Supervisors has appointed J. Kevin Ruedisueli to serve as the at-large representative on the Loudoun County Planning Commission.
Ruedisueli will complete the term of Christeen Tolle, which expires on December 31, 2011. Tolle submitted her resignation to Board Chairman Scott K. York, effective May 19, 2009, because she is moving to Germany.
Ruedisueli received his master’s degree in architecture from Massachusetts Institute of Technology and maintains a sole-practice office based in Waterford. He is active in local civic groups and is a previous member of the planning commission. His current memberships include the Loudoun County Historic District Review Committee, Rural Economic Development Council, and Design Cabinet.
The Loudoun County Planning Commission is a nine-member advisory body appointed by the Board of Supervisors. The commission provides recommendations on issues concerning land development ordinances, comprehensive planning, future land use policies, and the Capital Improvements Program for the county.
The commission also reviews a variety of land development applications, such as rezonings and special exceptions, and makes recommendations to the Board of Supervisors for consideration in approving or denying the proposed projects.
