Dominion High School will present “The Music Man" on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, April 30-May 3 in the Dominion High School Auditorium at 21326 Augusta Drive, Sterling.
A staple of musical theater, the story introduces Harold Hill, a con-man traveling salesman posing as a band leader, as he arrives in River City. His plan is to set up a boys’ band, swindle all the town’s parents for uniform and instrument fees, and then skip town before they arrive.
In this all-American classic Broadway musical set in 1912, optimism, high hopes for the future, and moral responsibility win out. Things don’t work out as Hill planned, and he finds himself falling in love with the town’s librarian and developing personal relationships with many River City citizens.
Tickets are $7 for students, $10 for adults. Showtimes are 7:30 p.m. each night with a Sunday matinee on May 3 at 3 p.m.
