Assault on an Officer

June 30, 2:24 a.m.

Kareen A. Watson, 33, of Herndon, was stopped by deputies initiating a traffic stop near the intersection of Old Ox Road and Rock Hill Rd. During the stop Watson became belligerent and began to fight the deputies. Under custody deputies leaned that Watson was wanted by U.S. Marshals for a probation violation and was charged locally with Obstruction of Justice and Assault on Law Enforcement. He remains held at the Loudoun Adult Detention Center.

 

Auto Crash

June 28, 4:51 p.m.

Charles H. Pepenoe, 76, of Bethesda, MD, was making a U turn on Route 7 and Goose Creek in his 2004 Toyota Prius, when he struck Ngan Duong, 43, of Ashburn, who was driving west bound in a 2002 Mercedes. Popenoe was airlifted to INOVA Fairfax Hospital, where he was charge with Driving Under the Influence. 

 

June 28, 9:17 p.m.

Leslee Garza, 20, of Harpers Ferry was driving a1990 Toyota Corolla and traveling westbound on Route 9 when her vehicle crashed head-on into the vehicle of Lance and Renata Benedict. Garaza, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was airlifted to INOVA Fairfax Hospital with serious injuries. Benedict and his wife were taken to INOVA Loudoun Hospital for injuries as well. Garza was charged with Driving Under the Influence.

 

June 29

Deputies responded to a single vehicle crash on the 17560 block of Dry Mill Rd. in Leesburg. A 17-year old female struck a fence. She was airlifted to INOVA Fairfax Hospital and released in the evening. She was charged with Reckless Driving and Driving without a License.

 

 Auto Theft

June 29, 2:30 a.m. - 2:45 a.m.

A 2007 Jeep Cherokee was stolen from the 25500 block of Quits Pond Ct. in Chantilly. The keys to the vehicle were left in a parked car in the driveway. 

 

Burglary

June 29, 7:00 a.m.

Suspects entered the attached garage of home at the 21200 block of Dubois Ct in Ashburn. Suspects entered the vehicle and stole an MP3 player and cash. Alcohol was removed from the garage as well.

 

June 29, 10:00 a.m. - 4:30 a.m.

Suspects entered a residence at the 20 block of Cedar Dr in Sterling. They removed a wallet. Suspects probably gained entry through a garage door opener left in an unlocked vehicle.

 

Destruction of Property

June 29, 3:32 p.m.

Possible gang-related graffiti was located on a bridge near Algonkian Parkway and Sugarland Run area. The report was forwarded to Loudoun County Sheriff's Office Gang Intelligence Unit.

 

Larceny

June 28-29, 4:00 p.m. - 7:00 a.m.

Unknown subjects entered five work vehicles belonging to Nugent & sons at the 45900 block of Maries Rd. in Sterling. The suspects punched the vehicle locks to gain entry. Various items were taken.

 

June 29, 12:01 a.m. – 6:00 a.m.

Unknown suspects entered an unlocked vehicle at the 25500 block of Quits Pond Ct. in Chantilly. A GPS unit was removed.
