A Loudoun County Public School Bus became stuck on the median between lanes of traffic on Route 15 on Thursday, June 11. The driver, Mark David Griffiths, 54, was driving south on Sycolin Road and attempting to turn right onto the westbound lanes of the Leesburg Bypass/ Route 15. Unsuccessfully navigating the turn, the bus pushed forward onto the median between lanes of traffic, becoming stuck on the slope that makes up the median at that location.

Westward traffic on Route 15 was stopped for over an hour as heavy-duty towing trucks moved to extricate the bus.

There were no students aboard the bus at the time of the accident and the driver was not injured.

Griffiths has been charged with reckless driving, although according to Loudoun County Public Schools (LCPS) spokesman Wayde Byard, this is a general charge for incidents relating to Commercial Vehicle License (CVL) holder. According if Byard, holders of a CVL  undergo drug and alcohol testing within four hours of an accident.

My brother Ty did the towing for this bus accident. He really loves his job because he has called me a thousand times to look at this video. He looks like he know what he is doing. Go Ty. Good Job.

Nice looking recovery Ty. I met you on June 11th, at your Sterling shop, right before you got this call. It will be a pleasure to both work and learn from you, as well as the other operators of the Road Runner Team. It is also nice to see the public supporting the efforts of the Professionals in our Industry.
