Around 7:30 p.m. on Monday June 14, the boy apparently leaned against the screen of a window at a friend’s home located in the 43800 block of Chloe Terrace in Ashburn.

As the screen was pushed out, the child fell out of the window. He was airlifted to INOVA Fairfax Hospital. The Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office says the incident appears to have been an accident.

After initially being listed as in critical, life-threatening condition, the young boy is now expected to recover.

“The boy is expected to full recovery,” said Kraig Troxell, Public Information Officer for the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office. “He has serious injuries but they are not life threatening at this point.”

Memorial Child-Protection Window Guard Law” in

memory of three children whose untimely death led to the

adoption and enhancement of the law;

TENANTS GUIDE TO WINDOW GUARD ORIENTATION AND SAFETY
landlords are required by law to place window guards in apartments where children live.
These laws also have requiring a prominent posting of these rights in common areas of multiple dwellings.

In accordance with P.L. 2006, c.55, N.J.A.C. 5:10-27.3 the proposed rules would establish guidelines

Paragraphs (1) and (2) of subsection b. of N.J.S.A. 55:23A-7.16 separated by an “and,” not an “or,” thereby requiring the orientation programs both in subsidized buildings and in buildings with one or more rental assistance recipient in residence, in either case provided they are more than four stories in height.
