According to Loudoun County health officials, 900 people received vaccinations for the H1N1 virus at Smart’s Mill Middle School on North King Street Saturday. Those most at-risk, such as pregnant women and children and teens, were invited to take part, as the county had enough vaccines available for only 2,000 people.
Loudoun County Health Department director Dr. David Goodfriend said all of the nasal mist versions of the vaccine were dispensed by the end of the day, while some injectable doses were still available.
Additional swine flu shot clinics will be set up as soon as further vaccine shipments arrive. When the clinics are scheduled, the most up-to-date information will be posted at www.loudoun.gov/flu. Questions and concerns can be directed to the Loudoun County Health Department at flu@loudoun.gov or by calling the flu information line at 703-771-5512.

The Health Department staff and all the volunteers did an excellent job! They were well-organized, efficient, friendly, and caring. I was very impressed and grateful for the opportunity to have my child immunized. Thank you!
