Car Stickers Due this Month

The deadline to display 2010 Loudoun County vehicle decals is Nov. 16

If you have not purchased a decal, you an do so at the following locations Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., or by going online or calling:

Recycling Day Declared in Loudoun

The Loudoun County Board of Supervisors recently declared Nov. 15 as America Recycles Day in Loudoun. On that day, millions of residents across the country will pledge to improve their recycling habits at work and at home.

In addition to curbside recycling pick up, there are 11 drop-off centers in Loudoun where residents and businesses can leave their cans, bottles, paper and cardboard for recycling.

Contracting Opportunities with MWAA Topic of Seminar

The Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority will hold its 19th annual Business Opportunity Seminar for Small, Local, Minority and Woman-Owned Businesses on Friday, Nov. 13. The Airports Authority operates Washington Dulles International Airport, Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport and the Dulles Toll Road, and is managing construction of the Dulles Corridor Metrorail Project.

Contracting opportunities are available in construction, concessions and goods and services. The seminar will provide information to local businesses about upcoming contracting opportunities with the Airports Authority and how small businesses may partner with larger companies on Airports Authority projects.

The seminar will take place at the Renaissance Hotel, 999 Ninth St., NW, Washington, D.C., from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. The event is free but advance registration is required. See www.mwaa.com to register.

Supervisors to Meet Nov. 17

The Board of Supervisors’ next business meeting is Nov. 17, beginning at 9 .m., in the boardroom of the Loudoun County Government Center in Leesburg. The public can address the board Nov. 16, beginning at 6:30 p.m., at the same location. See www.loudoun.gov for more information.
