Board Honors Fallen Soldier
The Loudoun County Board of Supervisors Oct. 20 unanimously adopted a resolution honoring fallen Purcellville solider Army Spec. Stephan Mace, who was killed in action this month.
Mace and seven of his comrades died on Oct. 3, when Taliban forces attacked their outpost in the Kamdesh section of Afghanistan. Mace was a member of the 4th Infantry Division based out of Fort Carson, Colo.
In their resolution, supervisors asked Loudoun County residents “to always remember the service of all of those men and women” of America’s armed forces who died in combat.

Northern Virginia Housing, Economy Topic of Summit
The Dulles Area Association of Realtors will hold Oct. 30 its fourth annual Economic and Housing Forecast Summit at the Loudoun County School Administration building, 21000 Education Court, in Ashburn.
Discussing what’s in store for the local economy and real estate market will be John McClain, a senior fellow at the George Mason University Center for Regional Analysis, Greg Stratton, a research economist for the National Association of Realtors, and Rosemary deButts, housing market consultant for DAAR.

Board Moves Meeting to Wednesday
Due to Election Day, Loudoun’s Board of Supervisors will hold its next business meeting on Wednesday, Nov. 4, instead of Tuesday, when meetings are traditionally held. The meeting will begin at 9 a.m. in the boardroom of the Loudoun County Government Center in Leesburg. The public can address the board of Monday, Nov. 2, at 6:30 a.m., at the same location.
Dulles Tech. Company Among Fastest Growers
Dulles-based satellite imagery company GeoEye Inc. was named by Deloitte as one of the nation’s 500 fastest growing technology companies.
