Six Arrested in Connection with Gang-Related Fight in August

On Sept. 3, 2009, the Leesburg Police Department, assisted by members of The Northern Virginia Gang Task Force and Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office Gang Unit, executed nine search warrants and made six criminal arrests in follow-up of a gang-related incident on August 12, 2009.

Eight of the search warrants were executed in Leesburg and one was executed in Sterling. Four adults and two juveniles were charged with Trespassing on School Property, Illegal Assembly and Gang Participation. Various weapons and assorted gang-related items were seized as a result of the operation.

The charges are a result of Leesburg Police responding on August 12, 2009 at approximately 1:30 p.m. to a large fight in progress near an elementary school in the 300 Block of Plaza Street NE in Leesburg. Subsequently, police were able to apprehend and identify several subjects suspected of participating in gang related activity.
