The large swath of undeveloped land is scheduled to be sold off in four sections that range in size from 1,980 acres to 427 acres, according to legal advertisements that appeared in The Washington Post in early August.
Several years ago, developer Greenvest desired to put 15,000 homes on this land. However, ultimately, the Loudoun County Board of Supervisors rejected those plans. The properties will convey with the current proffer agreements, zonings and other restrictions, according to the county planning office.
The auction will take place at 10 a.m. The required deposit for the largest section of land – 1,980 acres – is $600,000. The other parcels require deposits of $385,000, $380,000 and $300,0000, respectively.
