The 19-year old male victim has been identified as Bryan Vidarte, 19, of Centreville. Troxell says the results of the victim’s autopsy will not be released for several weeks.
Friends of Bryan and his family started posting condolences on his Facebook page only a few hours after the youth’s untimely death. A memorial group was created on Facebook on Tuesday afternoon, shortly before Loudoun County Police issued a press release officially confirming the young man’s identity. As of 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, the group membership had climbed to 152 members.
A post on the wall of “For Bryan Vidarte R.I.P Every One Will Miss You” by Lex Herrera read “As i stood by your side in your remaining moments,i couldnt believe my eyes. my own cousin laying there before me. i did what i could to help. but it wasnt enough. i will always love you and miss you fam. and as your gone ima take care of your mom, mi tia, as much as i can. Rest in peace Bryan. You may be gone, but you will never be forgotten.”Posts all over his personal page, as well as the group page express how much this young man will be missed. As Bryan’s family and friend mourn, the investigations of the events leading to his untimely death continue.
Police were called to the scene at 2:48 a.m. Sunday July 19, 2009. Moments later, Sheriff's deputies arrived at the 20400 block of Tappahannock Place—a location that became the scene of Loudoun’s fifth homicide of the year.
According to Sheriff's Office spokesman Kraig Troxell, there was a party taking place at the Lowes Island home in Sterling when two individuals had a skirmish on the adjoining Lowes Island Boulevard. The conflict turned deadly, however, when one subject pulled a firearm and shot the male victim.
The body was found by officers on the lawn of the home where the party was being held. The victim was transported to Inova Fairfax hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The Loudoun County Sheriff's Office has released the names of two men involved in the shooting on Tappahannock Place.
Guillermo A. Alvarado, 20, of Sterling, and Rasheed L. Nurse, 26, of Herndon have been charged with 2nd Degree Murder. Both are being held without bond at the Loudoun County Adult Detention Center. Both men were attending a house party, along with the victim.
The incident apparently began when Alvarado became engaged in an argument with Vidarte at the home in the Lowes Island community of Sterling. The argument was taken outside where an altercation occurred between the victim and both suspects.
Nurse allegedly brandished the firearm that caused the victim's fatal gunshot wound.
According to the General District Court, the preliminary hearing has been scheduled for September 10, 2009 at 1 p.m. Alvarado has elected representation by a public defender and Nurse will be represented by a firm located in Leesburg, Biberaj & Snow, PC.
Neighbors report that the house where the party occurred is in the foreclosure process and the couple who owned the house have already moved out and were allowing their college age son to live there.
The young man hosting that party said in an interview with Fox News that he did not know either of the suspects and that he had ended the party at 2 a.m., shortly before the shooting began. The Loudoun Independent attempted to make contact with the party's host, but have been unable to at this time.
Further research into public records show that the listed residents of this house, Jose and Wilma Vargas, also owned another house in Sterling – located on 104 Almey Ct. The bank has already foreclosed on this house and it is for sale by United American Realty.
