The Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office has announced that an arrest has been made in a March 27 Home Invasion that occurred at an apartment in Lansdowne.
Dumisano J. Tembo, 19, of Ashburn was arrested on Tuesday and charged with Use of a Firearm in the Commission of a Felony and Robbery. He is currently being held without bond pending a arraignment at Loudoun’s Adult Detention Facility.
The incident occurred in the late evening after the two female residents returned home from a day of shopping. They reported that an unknown male suspect entered their home through the unlocked door, brandished a firearm and forced them into a laundry room. From inside the room, they heard additional suspects ransack the home. The women called police after the invaders left. Two video game systems and a laptop were removed.
There is no word as to whether additional arrests are expected.
This incident unnerved the neighboring communities after the March 22 murder of William Bennett. While speculation linked the two events, the Sheriff’s Office has indicated that there is no evidence to link the two crimes.
