Stone Bridge High School senior Chris Bollinger is attending the prestigious Governor’s German Academy program, sponsored by the Virginia Department of Education at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond.

The German Academy program is one of the three full emersion programs offered, the other two being French and Spanish. There is also a Latin Academy available to progress interested scholars in areas that are not covered in the regular school systems. There are partial immersion programs for Arabic, Chinese, Japanese and Russian. Each one of these programs involves cultural history, geography, sports, cooking, dancing and music. Several of these programs are available because of funding from STARTALK. All of these programs run from mid- June until July 19.
