Woodgrove and Tuscarora were named Tuesday night at the Loudoun School Board meeting. Both appointments are effective July 2009 as both high schools are scheduled to open for the 2010-2011 school year.
Frederick (Ric) Gauriloff currently the principal at Mercer Middle School was named principal of Woodgrove High School, in Purcellville. Woodgrove HS is slated to open for the 2010-2011 school year. Gauriloff began his career with Loudoun County Public Schools in 2000 as an assistant principal at Stone Bridge High School. Gauriloff has served as the principal of Mercer Middle School since the school opened in 2004. Gauriloff holds an education degree from Gannon University in Erie Pennsylvania and masters in education from George Washington University.
Pamela Paul-Jacobs was named principal of Tuscarora High School in Leesburg. Tuscarora HS is slated to open for the 2010-2011 school year. Paul-Jacobs currently serves as assistant principal at Broad Run High School. Paul Jacobs hold a degree in special education from Winston Salem State University and a masters in education administration from Shenandoah University. Paul-Jacobs began her career in LCPS as a special education teacher at Loudoun County High School in 1987. Paul-Jacobs returned to LCPS and to LCHS as a special education teacher in 1993 until 1995. From 1995-1998 she served as attendance coordinator, from 1998 until 2001 Paul-Jacobs was a dean and teacher at Simpson Middle School, from 2001 until 2005 she served as assistant principal at Park View High School and in 2005 was named assistant principal at Broad Run High School. Pamela Paul-Jacobs who assumes her new post on July 1, 2009 is the first African American principal of a LCPS high school.
