Loudoun County High School, playing in Leesburg, claimed scores of 25-14, 25-18 and 25-14.

Saving 13 minutes is not just a convenience – it could help flyers make their flights. Dulles has stated that the wait time for trains on the new system will not exceed two minutes, compared to the average wait and travel time of 15 minutes for the mobile lounges.

The system, developed by Mitsubishi, looks like something out of a design brochure and appears all but complete. Travelers who catch a plane are now directed downstairs after passing through security and are offered a glimpse at the future of Dulles transportation – right before they are herded onto a mobile lounge.

Firefighters fought the blaze at the Leesburg Station Auto Wash on Leesburg’s Catoctin Circle for several hours. “They did a great job and [helped us] save our second building,” said co-owner Ryan Magazzine. The facility consisted of two buildings: the main building that burned, where cleaning and detailing was performed, and the 165-foot long wash tunnel on the back of the property, which was not damaged. The main building was rebuilt – a several month process – and officially re-opened on Sunday, Nov. 15.

Despite trailing for most of the game, James Wood was able to rally late and managed 311 yards on the ground. James Wood running back Brock Lockhart managed to tally three touchdown runs, one from 84 yards out, and ran for 265 yards himself.

With just minutes remaining in the game, Loudoun County found themselves deep in their own territory – at their own 10-yard-line. All-Dulles-District second team quarterback selection Austin Campbell then went to work, completing five passes in a short stretch and advancing the ball all the way to the James Wood 15 yard-line.

This time, heavy rains forced the teams to play at Marshall's Jimmy Miller Field – but that didn't appear to slow down the Bulldogs.

Stone Bridge managed two touchdowns from junior running back Marcus Harris, and Taylor Lambke and Kyle Gouveia, son of former Redskin Kurt Gouveia, each added one score.

Stone Bridge managed to rush for 263 yards and set the pace in their 28-7 victory. When the team's played last week, Stone Bridge won 45-22.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, a suspect, believed to be Perry, approached a man on a bicycle and demanded cash. The man resisted and was stabbed, and was airlifted to INOVA Fairfax Hospital. He is expected to recover from his injuries.

Now, Perry is facing charges of malicious wounding and attempted robbery. But Loudoun residents might ask a more significant question – why wasn't Perry in jail?

2 Gymnast1
Fisher finished 2nd in Vegas.

Fisher, a senior from Paul VI Catholic High School in Fairfax, earned a spot on the United States Tumbling Team. She and her teammates will compete at the World Age Group Games from Nov. 14 to Nov. 22 in St. Petersburg, Russia.

She was able to qualify for the event by finishing second in the national competition at Las Vegas.

Fisher will be able to bring a bit of additional experience to the mat – she finished 13th at the last World Age Group Games in 2007, hosted in Quebec.

This Friday, Nov. 13, under the lights at many fields across the county, the playoffs will begin. Another year featuring the same old trends (Stone Bridge remains dominant) as well as some pleasant surprises (Broad Run goes undefeated) has passed – but anything can happen on Friday night.

Without further ado, here is the list of the area's first round games:

AAA Northern Region, Division 5:

Stone Bridge Head Coach Mickey Thompson's offense was in running mode, as the Bulldogs tallied 300 yards rushing on 46 attempts and threw the ball just 10 times.

Stone Bridge junior Marcus Harris turned in another strong performance, notching four touchdowns (one from 49 yards) and trucking for 188 yards. He finished the season with 16 rushing touchdowns and 1,476 yards, averaging 6.3 yards a carry.

The popular grocery chain, which originated in upstate New York, opened its 75th store -- and second in Loudoun -- after expanding to Sterling only a few years ago. The doors opened at 7 a.m., but a large line had formed by 6:30 a.m.

Four women at the beginning of the line had been there since 4:30 a.m. Talk about love for Wegmans.
